He completed a traditional internship at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Florida, and a general surgery residency at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital and St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Mich. He also completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship with Robert Jackson, M.D., and Timothy Gillum, M.D., in Indiana.
Dr. Mangione has participated in clinical research on noninvasive body contouring and has published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery on laser therapy. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
