About Suleyki Medina, MD
Suleyki Medina, M.D., is a palliative medicine specialist who serves as an attending physician on the Symptom Management and Palliative Medicine Service at Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute, a part of Baptist Health South Florida.
Dr. Medina received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed a residency in internal medicine at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she was honored with the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Award for Excellence. She also completed two fellowships –– in geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine –– at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was honored with the Fellow of the Year award in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Medina is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. She has published on geriatric and palliative medicine topics, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Medina is also an assistant professor at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
