Samuel A. Kareff, M.D., MPH, is a medical oncologist and hematologist at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He is certified in internal medicine and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kareff specializes in the care of thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies. His professional and clinical interests include early detection of cancers, identification of novel biomarkers, clinical research from early to late phase trials and global oncology approaches to maximize access and equity to treatments.
Dr. Kareff serves as liaison to the Board of Directors of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and is a member of numerous professional organizations.
Dr. Kareff earned a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health dual degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his chief residency in internal medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and served as chief fellow during a hematology/medical oncology fellowship at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Kareff has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums. When it comes to patient care, Dr. Kareff focuses on the whole patient, not simply the disease. While treatment goals and side effects are often the focus in the examination room, he strives to include a patient's caregivers and other loved ones in the cancer care journey.
Patients can communicate with Dr. Kareff in English, Spanish and Portuguese. During his free time, he enjoys running, traveling with his family, and watching foreign and independent films.
