Sabrina Cordero, APRN, FNP-BC, is an advanced practice registered nurse at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. She specializes in benign hematology, caring for patients with conditions such as anemia, iron deficiency, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary emboli. She conducts comprehensive patient assessments and consultations, orders diagnostic evaluations and manages treatment plans, all within the framework of established protocols with a supervising physician.
Ms. Cordero has more than 16 years of nursing experience, 10 of which are in advanced practice. Her academic preparation includes earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Florida International University in Miami and completing a one-year international research training program at the University of Bielefeld in Bielefeld, Germany. She also earned a Masters of Advance Practice Nursing degree with a specialization in family nurse practitioner from Nova Southeastern University in Palm Beach Gardens, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her clinical training includes a fellowship in classical hematology at Miami Cancer Institute, with a focus on benign hematology practice.
Ms. Cordero is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner and licensed by the State of Florida as an advanced practice registered nurse. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, South Florida Council of Advanced Practice Nurses and Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology.
