About Renata Ribeiro Freitas Ruiz, MD
Renata R. Ruiz, M.D., FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. She offers comprehensive dermatological care, encompassing medical, surgical and cosmetic services. Her clinical interests focus on the treatment of multi-ethnic skin and the promotion of diversity within the dermatology field.
Dr. Ruiz earned her medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. She completed an internal medicine internship and a three-year dermatology residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Ruiz is deeply committed to patient education, advocacy and volunteerism. She has published extensively in medical journals, presented abstracts at medical symposiums, participated in radio talk shows, led free clinics and engaged in medical mission trips abroad. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an active member of the Skin of Color Society and the Women’s Dermatological Society.
Patient-centered care is the cornerstone of Dr. Ruiz’s practice. She is dedicated to treating patients with the utmost respect and empathy, emphasizing trust and clear communication.
Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, Dr. Ruiz enjoys spending her free time with family as well as dancing and traveling.
