About Rejo Cherian, MD
Rejo P. Cherian, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist specializing in neuromuscular medicine at Marcus Neuroscience Institute, part of Baptist Health Brain & Spine Care. He provides comprehensive care for patients with complex disorders affecting the peripheral nerves, muscles and neuromuscular junction.
Dr. Cherian is triple board-certified in neurology, neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine. He has advanced expertise in diagnosing and managing motor neuron disease, myopathy, myasthenia gravis, neuromuscular junction disorders, plexopathy and polyneuropathy.
A key focus of his practice is electrodiagnostic medicine, including nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG). These specialized tests help pinpoint the cause of symptoms such as weakness, numbness, muscle cramping and nerve pain, allowing for precise diagnosis and personalized treatment planning.
Dr. Cherian earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed an internal medicine internship at New York University Lutheran Medical Center, followed by a neurology residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as chief resident. He then pursued fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine and neurophysiology at Cleveland Clinic.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cherian has served in leadership roles, including medical director of a Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic and an electrodiagnostics and neuromuscular laboratory. He currently serves as assistant professor of neurology at Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, where he contributes to the education and training of future physicians.
Dr. Cherian’s care philosophy is rooted in evidence-based medicine and guided by clinical experience.
