Rair J. Valero Carrion, M.D., is a urologist at Baptist Health Urology. He specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the prostate, kidney and bladder using minimally invasive surgical procedures, including robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques. Dr. Valero also has expertise in the treatment of diseases affecting the male and female urinary system and genital and reproductive organs.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Valero was a urologist at Hospital de Clinicas Caracas, in Venezuela. Dr. Valero earned his medical degree at Universidad de Carabobo Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, in Valencia, Venezuela. He completed a general surgery internship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland and a urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive urological surgery at Global Robotics Institute in Orlando and Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France. Dr. Valero has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Urological Association and several other professional organizations.
