About Melissa Marie Guanche, MD
Melissa Guanche, M.D., is the director of interventional spine care at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Guanche specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry, which aims to enhance and restore the functional ability of patients with physical impairments or disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons.
She designs comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans that help maximize patients’ independence in activities of daily living and improve their quality of life. Dr. Guanche has published articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and presented her clinical findings at medical conferences. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists and Spine Intervention Society. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
