Paulo Duarte De Carvalho, MD

Paulo Carvalho, M.D., MBA, is a family medicine and geriatric medicine physician with Baptist Health Concierge Medicine. He had more than 10 years of experience in outpatient and inpatient care settings and specializes in preventive care, chronic disease management and the coordination of ongoing medical care for concierge medicine patients. He is board certified in family medicine and geriatrics.

Prior to joining Baptist Health Dr. Carvalho was a primary care physician and geriatrician at One Medical in New York, N.Y.

Dr. Carvalho earned his medical degree at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais School of Medicine in Brazil and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in healthcare at the University of Miami Herbert School of Business. His clinical training includes a family medicine residency at Borinquen Medical Centers in Miami as well as a geriatrics fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine in New York, N.Y., where he received the STAR (Strive to Achieve Relationships) Award for embodying Mount Sinai’s values and service behaviors.

Dr. Carvalho believes that socialization and good humor are important in maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health. With this in mind, he develops strong and meaningful connections with his patients and educates and empowers them to make well-informed decisions about their health. He also advocates for his patients and works diligently in the coordination of their care with specialists, pharmacies, specialty clinics and hospitals, as needed.

Dr. Carvalho is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor cycling, playing musical instruments, watching short videos online, going to the movies and attending religious services at synagogue.
