About Patricia Weiss Jacobs, MD
Patricia Jacobs, M.D., is a board-certified palliative care physician at the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Jacobs provides care that addresses a cancer patient’s physical symptoms as well as the numerous emotional, psychological and social stressors of undergoing cancer treatment. Her goal is to help patients achieve the best results and daily quality of life. Dr. Jacobs joined Lynn Cancer Institute after completing a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at UCLA Medical Center. She previously worked in internal medicine before pursuing a subspecialty in palliative care. She currently serves as an affiliate faculty member at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. Previously, Dr. Jacobs served as an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA for more than 15 years. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She co-authored a chapter in the medical textbook “Pain Care Essentials and Innovations.” Dr. Jacobs believes palliative care is optimal when provided by an interdisciplinary team as it allows for a truly holistic view of an individual as well as their family, caregiver and support system. She is passionate about the connection she makes with patients and their families and considers it a privilege to help patients achieve their unique personal goals. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering in the community.
