About Pablo Ezequiel Ravenna, MD
Pablo E. Ravenna, M.D., is a neuro-ophthalmologist at Marcus Neuroscience Institute, part of Baptist Health. With training in both neurology and ophthalmology, he specializes in diagnosing and treating complex neurologic conditions that affect vision, with a focus on preserving function, quality of life and long-term neurologic and ocular health.
His clinical interests span general neurology and neuro-ophthalmology, including optic neuropathies, optic neuritis, headache disorders and inflammatory and demyelinating diseases affecting the visual system. With formal training in both ophthalmology and neurology, along with fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology, he brings an integrated understanding of neuro-visual pathways and the biologic mechanisms underlying neurologic and visual disease. He has a particular interest in idiopathic intracranial hypertension, emphasizing early diagnosis, prevention of vision loss and long-term care optimization.
He completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, and his neurology residency at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School. Earlier in his career, he completed an ophthalmology residency at San Isidro Central Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dr. Ravenna is committed to advancing patient-centered care through education, research and mentorship. He has a strong interest in teaching medical students and trainees, helping introduce them to neuro-ophthalmology as a collaborative and integrative subspecialty that bridges multiple disciplines.
His patient care philosophy is rooted in thoughtful, evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making. Dr. Ravenna believes in taking the time to listen carefully to patients, understand how symptoms affect daily life and partner with them throughout their care journey. His approach emphasizes clear communication, patient education and long-term relationships, with the goal of not only treating disease but also supporting overall well-being.
Dr. Ravenna is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English and Portuguese, and conversational in Italian.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, learning about different cultures and exploring new cuisines, both at restaurants and at home. He enjoys playing tennis, learning about nutrition and longevity, and exploring geography and world cultures. Most importantly, he values spending time with his children.
