Monika Tano, APRN, MSN, is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in neurosurgical care at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute.
Monika assists in the daily care of patients with acute neurosurgical conditions. She collaborates with the surgical team to treat a range of neurological issues, including ruptured aneurysms, brain and spine tumors, and degenerative spinal conditions. She also develops individualized care plans from initial consultation through hospital discharge and follow-up care.
Prior to joining Baptist Health Baptist Hospital in 2008 as an emergency room registered nurse, Monika worked as a nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital in a level 1 trauma neurosurgical critical care unit for 16 years.
With over 30 years of experience as a compassionate care provider, Monika excels at helping her patients get back to doing what they love. Understanding that she meets people during difficult moments, Monika takes the time to teach patients about their diagnosis and treatment options. Through a combination of holistic care, active listening and shared decision-making, she supports patients every step of their journey.
In her free time, Monika enjoys traveling with her children and creating handmade photo albums, stationery and gifts.
