Mica Esquenazi Glaun, M.D., is a head and neck surgical oncologist, otolaryngologist and medical director of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She treats children and adults across the field of otolaryngology and specializes in head and neck surgical oncology. Her areas of expertise also include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, parotid surgery, oral, mandibular, maxillary and oropharyngeal surgery, laryngeal surgery, transoral robotic surgery, skin cancer ablation and reconstruction surgery, endoscopic skull base and sinonasal surgery, laser-assisted surgery and neoadjuvant approaches to head and neck cancer.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Glaun was a faculty member in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Glaun is an associate of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida in Boca Raton.
Dr. Glaun earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in Rochester, N.Y. Her otolaryngology residency training spanned across six hospital systems within the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She also completed a head and neck surgical oncology fellowship at the renowned University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Dr. Glaun’s research, including involvement with clinical trials, has been widely published in high-impact medical journals such as Science. She has also presented her work at professional symposiums. She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Society and the American Head and Neck Society.
With two family members affected by head and neck cancer, Dr. Glaun approaches her practice not only with great skill but also sincere empathy for patients and their families. When surgery is not the answer or when additional treatment is needed, Dr. Glaun partners with radiation and medical oncologists to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of multidisciplinary care. Innovative and culturally sensitive care is at the forefront of Dr. Glaun’s clinical practice.
Dr. Glaun is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, skiing, horseback riding and listening to live music.
