Lourdes Fox Labrada is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. She has been a member of the cardiology practice since 2005 and involved in the program’s expansion and growth. She provides care to heart failure patients in the heart recovery program, which focuses on providing patients with evidence-based medical therapy and reducing hospitalization.
Born and raised in Miami, Lourdes’ healthcare career began in 1997 when she worked as a hospital patient care technologist. She completed her education, both undergraduate and graduate school, at Florida International University. She also earned a master’s degree in nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner in cardiology, she treated patients in the intensive care unit and post-anesthesia care unit.
Lourdes enjoys listening to patients and their family members, educating them on the disease process and improving the patient’s overall functional status. She works with a care team that assists with coordination of care.
Lourdes is fluent in English and Spanish. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her family, husband and three girls. She enjoys traveling with them, both in urban and outdoor adventures. Her favorite place to be is on the beach.
