Jose Vazquez, M.D., is the chief of primary care at Baptist Health Medical Group, part of Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health issues, including hypertension, diabetes and respiratory conditions. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2016, Dr. Vazquez served as the chief of the internal medicine division at South Florida Multispecialty Associates and an associate attending physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center. At Mount Sinai Medical Center, he was named “Attending Physician of the Year.”
As chief of primary care, Dr. Vazquez is passionate about leadership and mentoring other physicians. His greatest honor is gaining the trust and respect of his patients and peers. Dr. Vazquez’s approach to patient care is to focus on preventive care. He is also committed to listening to each patient and respecting their wishes.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Vazquez enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and other outdoor activities.
