John Uribe, M.D., is a dual Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, José Milton Foundation Endowed Chair in Orthopedics and Chief Medical Executive with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.
He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgical procedures for degenerative conditions of the knee, shoulder and elbow.
Dr. Uribe is the team physician for the Florida Panthers hockey team and the Miami Dolphins football team. He is chairman of the department of orthopedics for Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and is a founding member of the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute.
Dr. Uribe was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and served as chief of orthopedics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. His research interests include minimally invasive resurfacing techniques of the knee and shoulder, as well as ligament and tendon restoration. A member of multiple professional organizations and societies, he is well-published and lectures extensively in the U.S. and abroad.

This was a final follow up visit to rotator cuff surgery and Dr. Uribe took the time to cover necessity of physical therapy and the importance to avoid several activities that could cause the shoulder problem to reoccur.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Uribe since I first saw him in 1991. I thank God that I was referred to him as "the doc to see." Love the fact that he is very honest & explains everything to you. What he thinks the problem is, possible solutions, walks you through chosen solution, follow up is excellent. He will explain anything you want to know. Always has the patients best interests in mind. He is an amazing surgeon & very creative when necessary. There are not enough words to describe his excellence. Despite 23 orthopedic surgeries he has kept me functioning & able to enjoy the sports & outdoor life I love. Simply the Best. (Only other point I have is you may get a few complaints from people who don't do their rehab. He is such a perfectionist that when he gives his all to help you he will let you know that you need to be an active participant in your rehab.) Thanks for all the people you have helped Dr.Uribe. You are special!
