Ehizele Majiri Osehobo, MD

Ehizele Osehobo, M.D., is a board-certified and fellowship-trained endovascular neurologist at Marcus Neuroscience Institute, part of Baptist Health Brain & Spine Care. He specializes in diagnosing and treating cerebrovascular conditions through minimally invasive procedures, including ischemic stroke, brain hemorrhages caused by ruptured aneurysms and other disorders affecting the brain’s blood vessels. His goal is to help patients regain function and independence through timely, evidence-based care.

Dr. Osehobo earned a Master of Science in Pre-Clinical Sciences at Mercer University School of Medicine. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. His postgraduate training includes an internal medicine residency, a neurology residency — where he served as chief resident — and a vascular neurology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. He completed additional fellowship training in endovascular neurology at Semmes-Murphey Clinic/University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Throughout his training, Dr. Osehobo has been recognized for both clinical excellence and professionalism. His honors include the Housestaff Organization Professionalism Excellence Award, Fellow Teacher of the Year Award and the Bernard J. Tyson Career Development Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. He remains active in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery.

A dedicated clinician-scientist, Dr. Osehobo has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations focused on stroke prevention and neurointerventional procedures. His recent research has centered on carotid web disease, an often overlooked cause of stroke, as well as innovative approaches to stroke treatment and prevention. He also has a strong interest in advancing neuroendovascular therapies for conditions such as chronic migraine, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and cancer-related disorders.

Dr. Osehobo believes that exceptional neurological care extends beyond the patient. Because many neurological emergencies occur suddenly and leave patients unable to advocate for themselves, he takes time to connect with loved ones, explain complex situations clearly and involve families in important treatment decisions. He views patients and families as partners throughout the recovery journey and strives to create an environment of trust, communication and compassion.

Committed to education and mentorship, Dr. Osehobo enjoys encouraging students and trainees to pursue careers in healthcare, particularly those from backgrounds that remain underrepresented in medicine.

Dr. Osehobo is fluent in English and conversational in French and Spanish. In his free time, Dr. Osehobo enjoys reading manga, manhwa and light novels; playing video games; following college and professional football and basketball; watching “Jeopardy”; weight training; and playing basketball.
