Christine V. Pestana, M.D., is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute and the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, both part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She specializes in the surgical management of breast disease and malignancy within a multidisciplinary context. Her interests include oncoplastic breast reconstruction, breast aesthetics, mastectomy modifications, patients at high risk for breast cancer, and young women with breast cancer.
Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute and Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, Dr. Pestana served as assistant professor of surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist/Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Pestana earned her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine. She served as chief surgical resident at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and completed a mastery of general surgery fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She also completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Carolina Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Pestana is a member of several professional organizations. She has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums.
To advance the field of cancer care, Dr. Pestana collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and conducts clinical and translational research. She is committed to providing compassionate care and surgical expertise to breast cancer patients and exploring ways to improve cancer care both within and beyond her immediate patient population.
Dr. Pestana is fluent in English and Spanish. When she is not treating patients, she spends time with her family and enjoys playing tennis, running, traveling, boating and deep-sea fishing.
