Christina Michael, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist and medical director of the Echo Lab at Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care at Bethesda Hospital East. She sees patients with all stages of cardiovascular disease and has special interest in preventive cardiology, women's heart health, advanced imaging with echocardiography and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Michael is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease, by the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation, by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.
Dr. Michael participates in innovative clinical research that seeks to improve care for cardiovascular disease patients. She also contributes to the medical community as a member and board member of several professional organizations. Dr. Michael earned her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. She remained at Ochsner Health System to complete a heart transplant and advanced heart failure fellowship as well as a cardiovascular disease fellowship, during which she served as chief fellow.
To achieve the best health outcomes, Dr. Michael partners with her patients to understand the root cause of their cardiovascular disease and empowers them with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their health.
When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Michael enjoys traveling the world with her family, playing pickleball and practicing Pilates.
