About Angel Alfonso Betancourt, MD
Angel Betancourt, M.D., is a general surgeon at Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Betancourt specializes in general surgery, advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Betancourt joined Baptist Health South Florida from private practice in Miami. During his surgery residency at New York Medical College, he was elected chief resident and served as an instructor of surgery. Dr. Betancourt is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He was previously a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Betancourt’s approach to patient care focuses on patients’ physical and emotional well-being, helping them return to a meaningful life in society.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Betancourt enjoys practicing the Japanese martial art judo.
