Alexander Andre Kong Ibanez, MD

Alexander Kong, M.D., is a cardiologist at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, part of Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. He specializes in cardiovascular disease with clinical interests in multimodality cardiovascular imaging, echocardiography, preventive cardiology and consultative cardiovascular care.

Dr. Kong earned his medical degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. He completed an internal medicine residency at University of Central Florida/HCA Florida, followed by a chief residency in quality improvement and patient safety at the Orlando VA Healthcare System and University of Central Florida/HCA Florida. He recently completed a cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he received training in interventional and structural echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, vascular ultrasound and cardiac catheterization. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Kong also earned certification from the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Kong has contributed to numerous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives focused on improving healthcare outcomes and interdisciplinary collaboration. He also has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented cardiovascular research at national scientific meetings, including the American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Session.

Dr. Kong is dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based cardiovascular care tailored to each patient’s individual needs and goals. He values building collaborative relationships with patients and families and believes that clear communication, preventive care and a strong focus on education can help patients take an active role in improving and maintaining their heart health.

Outside of work, Dr. Kong enjoys spending time with family, cooking diverse cuisines and staying active through soccer and running.
