COVID-19 Patients Treated in Separate Areas
Cancer Institutes Updated Visitor Guidelines
To continue protecting our immunocompromised cancer patients at Miami Cancer Institute and Lynn Cancer Institute from the risks of COVID-19, no visitors will be able to accompany adult patients for the duration of this pandemic. There will be special circumstances when it will be necessary for a single adult visitor to accompany a patient. *Limited exceptions may include: new patients, pediatric patients, adult patients with identified cognitive impairment, and patients in need of a wheelchair or who require significant help to ambulate. If a patient with a cognitive impairment is coming to a visit where a decision is to be made, a power of attorney or designation of health care surrogate should be in the medical record, allowing the visitor to make such decisions.
*Beginning June 7, 2021 Miami Cancer Institute patients may be accompanied by one visitor for appointments in the following areas:
- Rapid Treatment
- Express Symptom Management Unit (ESMU)
These areas have been identified as being more conducive to social distancing without additional risk to nearby patients.

Upcoming Appointments at Baptist Health
Our physicians continue to see patients both in-office and virtually. Please contact your doctor’s office directly to schedule an appointment. We have always maintained high standards of safety and cleanliness, and have now added new measures to help keep you and your loved ones well.
In order to best ensure social distancing, certain physician offices may not be able to accommodate visitors at this time due to space limitations. If you have an in-office appointment with your doctor, please call ahead to confirm the most up-to-date visitor guidelines for that location.
Select offices may utilize the Baptist Health Care on Demand app for virtual visits. Click here to learn more.
Baptist Health has resumed regular scheduling for imaging and diagnostic tests. If you need to reschedule an appointment, please call 786-573-6000.
