This week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released their latest hospital quality report, rating hospitals on a one to five-star scale. These scores rank hospitals based on overall quality, including patient experience. I am proud to report that Baptist Health South Florida Hospitals were once again rated among the best in the area. Mariners Hospital and West Kendall Baptist Hospital were the only two hospitals in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties to receive the high mark of four stars. Only 18 hospitals in the state of Florida received this rating. Baptist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Homestead Hospital and South Miami Hospital each received three stars. No hospitals in Miami-Dade or Monroe Counties received the top-ranked five-star rating.
The graph below shows how we compare to other hospitals in our area. When it comes to providing high-quality care for our community, Baptist Health hospitals are true leaders.
The next graph shows how Baptist Health hospitals compare to some of the hospitals that have been named among the best in the nation by US News & World Report.
Once again, these strong scores are a testament to our people. At each of our entities and facilities, the Baptist Health team works tirelessly each day to ensure our patients are getting the best possible care. We do not take our mission lightly, and it shows.
