Eating habits are critical when making healthy habits. Our experts include dietitians, diabetes care and education specialists who are highly trained in the area of food. They clarify complicated nutrition concepts in a way that is easy to understand. We offer weekly nutrition classes. Topics include, diabetes management, cooking demonstrations, trending nutrition topics and supermarket navigation.

Behavioral Health Classes

Behavioral Health Classes

Research shows that emotional well-being and self-care play a role in living a healthy lifestyle. Our experts include psychotherapists, psychiatrists and behavioral health specialists who understand that well. Their classes revolve around techniques and tips for managing stress, such as meditation classes. They also believe in educating the community with the goal of reducing damaging mental health stigmas. Support Groups

Support Groups

Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes. Support groups provide comfort and encouragement during difficult times. Our support groups are available virtually and at various locations. Group topics include autism, addiction, grief, mental health, smoking cessation, new moms, arthritis, diabetes, lupus, bladder health and many others.

  • Lucette Talamas

    Lucette Talamas

    Lucette Talamas MS RD LDN is a registered dietitian with Community Health at Baptist Health South Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in food science and human nutrition from University of Florida and a master of science in nutrition and wellness from Benedictine University. Ms. Talamas enjoys providing practical nutrition information to promote healthy lifestyles that can help prevent and manage chronic diseases. Her expert tips and advice have appeared in print and broadcast media. Active in professional nutrition organizations, Ms. Talamas received the 2018 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Manuela Rodriguez

    Manuela Rodriguez

    Of Colombian Heritage, Manuela Rodriguez is a native Floridian. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Florida International University and her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Rodriguez has worked to build a bridge between the world of education and mental health for many years. She has experience in the classroom and has provided family therapy in private practice and in-home settings. She has worked with parents and young children of diverse ethnic, race and/or socioeconomic backgrounds, including children with specials needs. She has provided bilingual parenting workshops and support groups for families, children and teens.

  • Janelle Falcon

    Janelle Falcon

    Janelle Falcon is a bilingual mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist, working towards educating the community and busting the mental health stigma as a behavioral health specialist with Community Health at Baptist Health South Florida. Janelle has clinical experience in mental health working with children, adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of concerns in an outpatient setting and higher level of care. Janelle’s areas of focus have been in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, gender issues, grief, mental wellness and overall wellbeing. She is passionate about working with and advocating for the underserved populations in South Florida. Born and raised in Miami, Florida and being a Cuban American, Janelle prides herself in being able to give back to her community that is lacking in resources. She also prides herself in being able to set an example for young Hispanic women and join the ranks of other amazing Hispanic female therapists in providing representation for her community.
