Both men and women get heart disease, but women are more likely to die from it. In fact, heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States. As American Heart Month continues, we turn our attention to women’s heart health.
Host, Jonathan Fialkow, M.D., welcomes Heather Johnson, M.D., a preventive cardiologist at the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, a part of Baptist Health. They discuss the roles played by anatomy, hormones, inflammatory diseases and lifestyle factors on women’s heart health at every stage of life.
