Pink Power: Courtside With Miami HEAT and Miami Cancer Institute

Breast cancer awareness held center court as the Miami HEAT hosted the HEAT’s “Red, White & Pink” Game presented by Baptist Health Breast Center at Miami Cancer Institute.  HEAT fans arrived at American Airlines Arena for an evening of fun, community service and health education.

For HEAT fans, the fun kicked off even before the scrimmage started, thanks to the Baptist Health “Embrace Tomorrow” truck, which was parked in front of the arena.  Fans took pictures in and around the truck, which is traveling throughout South Florida during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.  (Follow the conversation on Twitter and Facebook using these hashtags: ‪#‎GetYourPinkOn  and ‪#‎EmbraceTomorrow.)

Inside the arena, fans received special event T-shirts, witnessed a moving half-time celebration for breast cancer survivors and watched a spirited pre-season Miami HEAT scrimmage.

The HEAT presented Baptist Health with a check for the total amount of the entrance fees to the scrimmage.  Breast surgeon, Starr Mautner, M.D., received the check on behalf of Miami Cancer Institute and Baptist Health South Florida. The Baptist Health News Team was there. Watch now.
