Mariners Hospital, at mile marker 91.5 in Tavernier, is officially open. Although the hospital had been providing emergency services within hours of Hurricane Irma’s passing through the Florida Keys, the Baptist Health facility will now be offering a broad range of healthcare services. The Baptist Health Medical Group office located on the Mariners Hospital campus will open on Monday morning.

Since 1962, Baptist Health South Florida has been a part of the Upper Keys community. Its employees, along with those from other Baptist Health facilities, worked tirelessly to prepare the hospital for reopening after Hurricane Irma made landfall on Cudjoe Key. Many Mariners employees are also residents of the Florida Keys. They are offering care at Mariners even though many have suffered damage and power loss at their own homes.
The Baptist Health South Florida News Team will continue to follow the recovery process in the Florida Keys after Hurricane Irma.
