Baptist Health Fosters High-Tech Innovation (Video)

Baptist Health South Florida and Dreamit, a business accelerator, hosted eight healthcare technology startups in a showcase event to emphasize the importance of promoting innovative solutions within healthcare.

Billed as a “Healthcare Innovation Shark Tank,” entrepreneurs were challenged to present a three-minute pitch about their product or service to a panel of Baptist Health leaders. Dreamit has helped launch more than 275 startups with a collective worth in excess of $1.5 billion. Dreamit is a global network that connects entrepreneurs, investors and brands to customers, capital and community through business and academic partnerships.

These budding healthcare technology companies made strong arguments for an investment in their future — from an implantable medical device that allows doctors to actively monitor joint health via a smartphone app to a digital stethoscope that uses mobile sensors and a remote monitoring for long- term tracking of heart sounds.

The Baptist Health South Florida News Team was there to capture the competition. Watch it now.
