    Program Director

    Moe Shwin, Pharm.D., BCOP, is an Oncology Clinical Manager at Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida and the Director of the PGY2 Oncology Residency Program. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Pharmacy in 2012. Dr. Shwin completed both PGY1 Pharmacy residency and PGY2 Oncology specialty residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami. He currently serves as the co-chair of the Regimen Review Committee for Oncology, and involves with various committees and professional organizations. Dr. Shwin serves as an adjunct faculty member at Nova Southeastern University and a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida.

    Jorge J. Garcia, Pharm.D., MS, MHA, MBA, FACHE

    Jorge J. Garcia, Pharm.D., MS, MHA, MBA, FACHE, is an Assistant Vice President of Oncology pharmacy Services at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) College of Pharmacy and his MBA from the NSU Huizenga School of Business. Jorge completed his PGY-1/PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency and a Master of Science (MS) in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. More recently, he also completed a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Florida Atlantic University. Jorge has received a numerous awards and recognition for his service to the profession. Jorge has served on the ASHP Residency Advancement and the Manager Development Advisory Groups. He currently serves as a FLASCO board of directors member and also serves as a speaker at the national level for various committees and professional organizations.

    Dina Dumercy McHenry. Pharm.D., BCPS., BCOP

    Dina Dumercy McHenry. Pharm.D., BCPS., BCOP, is currently the Director of Pharmacy at the Miami Cancer Institute. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Florida A & M University and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with a focus in Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ FAMU. After her residency she completed an ASHP Oncology Patient Care Traineeship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She dually Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy and has over 15 years of experience practicing in Oncology. She currently serves as the co-chair of the MCI Oncology P&T Committee, and is a former program director for a post graduate year 2(PGY2) residency who achieved ASHP accreditation within that programs first year. She is an active member of several professional and civic organizations including Hematology Oncology Pharmacist Association (HOPA), Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) Board of Directors, and American Society of Health-system Pharmacy (ASHP) at the local and national level. She has a passion for educating patients and caregivers about cancer treatment, patient safety and increasing cancer awareness.

  • Marie Rossique-Gonzalez, Pharm.D.

    Marie Rossique-Gonzalez, Pharm.D.

    Marie Rossique-Gonzalez, Pharm.D., is the Pediatric Pharmacy Manager at Baptist Children's Hospital. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida (UF) and completed a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacy Residency at Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. She has over 20 years of experience as a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist in Pediatric Intensive Care, General Pediatrics, and Neonatology. She is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group. She has published multiple abstracts and articles in the pediatrics pharmacy and medical literature. Present or past Academic Appointments include voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor Pediatrics: University of Miami/School of Medicine, Clinical Assistant Professor at the UF and Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences.

    Nicholas K. Chow, Pharm.D., BCOP

    Nicholas K. Chow, Pharm.D., BCOP, is a Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor for the Investigational Drug Service at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida International University, and Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy. Dr. Chow completed a PGY1 General Practice pharmacy residency focused in oncology at Memorial Regional Hospital, where he continued on as the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator for the Investigational Drug Service.  After a few years in practice, he moved to Cambridge, MA to complete a fellowship in Translational Clinical Oncology at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in conjunction with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.  Dr. Chow has a graduate certificate in Regulatory Affairs and is Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP). He was most recently an Assistant Professor at Larkin University College of Pharmacy with a clinical practice in the Investigational Drug Service at Memorial Regional Hospital.

    Jessica Unzaga, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP, is a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida. She is a graduate of the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 and PGY2 residencies at the Nashville VA and Methodist University Hospital, respectively. She carries dual board certification in pharmacotherapy and oncology pharmacy and has a focused interest in malignant hematology and bone marrow transplantation. She is a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern College of Pharmacy and is an active member of ASBMT, NCODA, FLASCO, HOPA, and FSHP.

    Michelle M. Bustamante, Pharm.D., BCPPS

    Michelle M. Bustamante., Pharm.D., BCPPS, is a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2010 from the University Of Florida, College of Pharmacy. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 with pediatric emphasis at Wolfson Children’s Hospital/Baptist Health, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she also obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Florida. Upon completion of residency, she began her pharmacy career as a Clinical Pharmacist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. During her time at JDCH, Dr. Bustamante became a Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Hematology Oncology and also obtained her board certification in pediatric pharmacotherapy. Dr. Bustamante also serves as a mentor to pharmacy students in the mentorship program offered by her alma mater, precepts pharmacy students, as well as PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residents.

    Dr. Christine Ibarra is a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. She initially worked as a pharmacy technician for 5 years in the Baptist Health System, and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2015. After graduation, she completed both her PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training at Baptist Hospital of Miami. Christine was most recently a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist at the Memorial Healthcare system. She has experience with both solid and hematological malignancies, as well as with the management of patients on oral chemotherapy. She is currently a member of the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO), and the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA).

    Maria Carmen Figueroa, Pharm.D., BCOP, is an Oncology clinical staff pharmacist at Baptist Hospital of Miami. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Pharmacy in 1995. Her experience includes 4 years of retail pharmacy; she has been working in the hospital setting since 1999. Dr. Figueroa joined Baptist Hospital in 2004, where she concentrated her practice in the areas of Compounding Sterile Preparations and Oncology. In 2014, she received her Board of Pharmacy Oncology Specialty Certification. Her current duties include dispensing and preparing chemotherapy agents and monitoring and education of cancer patients. She assists in training of pharmacy students and oncology residents.

    Isabel Houlzet, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP, is a Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Gardner-Webb University, and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Houlzet completed her PGY-1 experience at South Miami Hospital, then went on to work as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and Baptist Hospital of Miami. She carries dual board certification in pharmacotherapy and oncology pharmacy. Dr. Houlzet was a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Memorial Cancer Institute.

    Alga S. Ramos Morales, PharmD, MS, BCPS

    Alga S. Ramos Morales, PharmD, MS, BCPS, is a Medication Safety and Quality Clinical Coordinator at the Miami Cancer Institute. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in 2014. Dr. Ramos also completed a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry at the UPR and her thesis was on warfarin pharmacogenomics. She completed her pharmacy practice residency training at Miami Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) with a specialty in Health System Pharmacy Administration. Prior to joining Baptist Health South Florida, she worked as Enterprise Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and as a Medical Science Liaison at Eli Lilly. In her current role as Medication Safety and Quality Clinical Coordinator, she monitors, evaluates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to prevent medication incidents in the Outpatient, Inpatient, Research and Specialty Pharmacy Oncology settings. She precepts pharmacy residents and students for advanced pharmacy practice experiences in symptom management, and medication safety rotations.

    Leonette Kemp, Pharm.D., CPE, is a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist at Baptist Hospital of Miami of Baptist Health South Florida. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, MD. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with emphasis in Pain and Palliative Care at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, MD. She accepted a clinical staff pharmacist position at Methodist University Hospital in 2007 working in both oncology and palliative care. She was promoted to a clinical pharmacy specialist as a result of her work in helping to establish clinical pharmacy services with the palliative care and oncology service lines. In June 2019, she accepted a clinical pharmacy specialist position at Baptist Hospital of Miami working with hematology and bone marrow transplant. She has served as preceptor for pharmacy students, pharmacy and medical residents and medical fellows for many years in the areas of pain, palliative care and oncology. She is a member of ASTCT, HOPA, ASHP and FSHP.

    Nicholas R. Bacon, Pharm.D., BCPS, is a Clinical Informatics Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. He worked as a pharmacy technician/intern for Rite-Aid Pharmacy prior to obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Miami VA. Nicholas then worked as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at the Miami VA, CVS Pharmacy, West Kendall Baptist Hospital, and the Miami Cancer Institute before beginning his current role.

    Tiba Al Sagheer, Pharm.D. BCOP, is a Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. She earned her Doctor of pharmacy degree from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy – Glendale. After graduation, Dr. Al Sagheer completed PGY-1 pharmacy residency at the Mayo Clinic followed by a PGY-2 in Oncology at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Al Sagheer is passionate about education and has experience in both formal classroom teaching as well as students and resident precepting in the clinical setting. She currently provides a clinical rotation in the outpatient clinic for both blood and marrow transplant as well as malignant hematology and is an active member in the clinical development of the pharmacist services in the clinic.

    Dr. Janine Smith is a Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida.  She completed her Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy at St. John’s University in New York and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Ernest Mario Rutgers School of Pharmacy in New Jersey.  She also completed her Masters of Science in Regulatory Affairs and Masters of Business Administration at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  Dr. Smith completed her PGY-1 residency at the Veterans Administration in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Smith has worked in academia as a clinical professor at Long Island University and Rutgers University, hospital pharmacy, home infusion, retail pharmacy and industrial settings at Sanofi-Aventis and Amgen.   She carries dual board certification in pharmacotherapy and oncology pharmacy.  She is currently a member of the American Clinical College of Pharmacy (ACCP) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).  Dr. Smith is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Breast at Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health, South Florida.
