Experience the magic

Maybe it’s South Florida’s beautiful beaches, tropical sunshine or colorful culture, but those of us who work at Baptist Health wouldn’t live anywhere else. South Florida’s relaxed lifestyle is legendary, offering world-class shopping and dining choices, a dynamic arts and cultural community, and endless opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors.

South Florida feels like home

South Florida feels like home

With a metropolitan population of six million, South Florida’s four-county area encompasses bustling cities, small towns, and quiet suburbs. Residential options include towering condominiums, comfortable apartment communities, peaceful single-family neighborhoods and everything in between. You’ll soon find a neighborhood that fits your personality.

A food lover's paradise

A food lover's paradise

South Florida’s melting pot of cultures and traditions means something delicious is always cooking. Downtown and on the beaches, award-winning celebrity chefs preside over a glittering restaurant scene. Ask your friends for tips about their favorite mom-and-pop spots offering the best fresh seafood, Cuban sandwiches or delectable pastries. Or, sample them all at a food truck event or farmer’s market.

Every August and September, the Miami Spice celebration showcases the best of Greater Miami and the Beaches’ diverse cuisine. More than 200 of the area’s top eateries offer multi-course meals at reduced, fixed prices. Dine Out Lauderdale (August-September) and Flavor Palm Beach (September) offer similar temptations.

Stay active in year-round sunshine

Stay active in year-round sunshine

In addition to world-famous beaches fronting the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, an array of public parks, golf courses, athletic fields, tennis courts, bike paths and other facilities make it easy to stay active. If spectator sports are more your style, you can cheer for top-ranked professional and college football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and ice hockey teams.

Enriching cultural opportunities

Well over 1,000 cultural organizations in South Florida contribute to an exciting and eclectic artistic community. Cultural anchors include the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Palm Beach’s Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. These venues present world-class artists, Broadway touring companies, orchestral music, opera, ballet, local community programming and arts education programs. The region is also home to numerous independent theater companies, music clubs and intimate performance venues.

Explore the visual arts at a fascinating assortment of museums, galleries and private collections open to the public. The Perez Art Museum Miami, the area’s flagship art museum, houses a stunning collection of modern and contemporary art. Other museums focus on culture, science, history and children.

Annual Highlights & Popular Attractions

Explore a different South Florida attraction or event every week of the year, with plenty to spare. Festivals, fairs, arts and craft shows, and sports participation events abound in a community that enjoys an average of 248 days of sunshine per year.

As a community leader and one of South Florida’s top employers, Baptist Health provides financial and volunteer support to some of South Florida’s most iconic events. You can make new friends and get to know your community by joining the Baptist Health volunteer team.
