Baptist Health Undergraduate Nurse Scholars Program
Incentive programs and on-site & offsite learning for eligible students pursuing Nursing degrees at our partner schools.
The Nurse Scholars Program reflects our commitment to education, equity and excellence in nursing. By investing in students today, we are helping build a stronger healthcare workforce for tomorrow. Through academic partnerships with South Florida institutions of higher learning. The Baptist Health Nurse Scholars Program offers monetary incentives (scholarships) towards their tuition in return for work commitments at Baptist Health.
Students accepted into the Scholars Program will participate in clinical experiences within Baptist Health facilities as both students and as Nurse Interns (“NI’s”). The Nurse Intern role is an employment opportunity for students to work alongside the healthcare team and gain clinical skills and critical thinking necessary for the evolving nurse role.
Nurse Scholars are provided with a financial incentive (scholarship) towards school tuition. This amount is paid directly to the school, and students are responsible for the balance of their tuition and fees.
There are two (2) program options for students to choose from.
- Onsite Scholars attend at Baptist Health locations and are taught by Baptist Health Faculty as follows:
- Bethesda College of Health Sciences
- Miami Dade College
- Offsite Scholars attend at our partner school locations.
Recipients of the Nurse Scholars Program receive:
- Financial incentive to support tuition paid directly to institution
- Access to mentorship from experienced Nursing professionals
- Opportunities for professional development, networking and career guidance
- Recognition as a Nurse Scholar
- Placement for clinicals at a Baptist facility (exception: Mental Health & Pediatric clinicals)

- Associate of Science in Nursing from Miami-Dade College*
- RN to BSN from Miami-Dade College**
- Associate of Science in Nursing from The College of the Florida Keys
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida International University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Palm Beach Atlantic University
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St Thomas University
Accelerated programs are offered at the following locations:
- Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University (Offsite)
- Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida International University (Offsite)
- Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University (Offsite)
*Applicants for an ASN program are given priority acceptance to the Scholars RN- BSN (which will be completed after the residency program).
**Applicants for the MDC ASN program are awarded scholarship for the ASN and the RN-BSN (which will be completed after the residency program). Therefore, all applicants must meet the MDC pre-requisite requirements for the RN-BSN to be considered for the ASN Scholar Program.

Eligibility Requirements & Prerequisites
- Must be a Florida resident eligible for in-state tuition
- Must have an Acceptance Letter from a Nursing Program of a Baptist Health partner school listed above
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and eligible to work at Baptist Health. Note: current Baptist Health employees not in good standing, or former Baptist Health employees who are ineligible for rehire are ineligible to participate in the Nurse Scholars Program
- Must have an active RN License (for RN-BSN program only)
- Must NOT have started a Nursing Program
Application Process & Requirements
Once you have completed all of the above prerequisites, you may visit and fill out the application for the Baptist Health Nurse Scholar’s Undergraduate Program. A complete Application includes the following:
- Completed and signed application form
- A letter of full acceptance from your Nursing Program
- Your most recent unofficial transcripts
- Your Professional Resume
- After all applicants are reviewed and processed, selected recipients will be notified by the Education Coordinators and scheduled for an Interview.
Program Expectations
- Maintain academic standing throughout the award period
- Participate in program related activities
- Serve as ambassadors for the Nurse Scholars Program

Our office only accepts clinical requests from Complio. We do not accept requests from any other platforms.

All compliance items are required of all students completing clinical rotations/projects within the system, regardless of employment status, to ensure we have the most up-to-date information. A reminder: Current employees are not permitted to complete clinical hours at the same facility where they currently work.

Yes, a Complio profile must be submitted for all instructors. Current employees are also not permitted to serve as clinical instructors at the same facility where they currently work.

Badge pick-up information is included in each clearance email from AcademicClearance@baptisthealth.net, and is assigned to the facility you are cleared for.
