Our program’s philosophy reflects the holistic and caring tradition of Florence Nightingale with the primary nursing theory of Jean Watson. Together, this approach creates a foundation for understanding the modern nursing environment.
The Nursing Program is a five (5) semester program that focuses on the general education and beginning technical skills necessary for providing and managing patient care and participating in the profession of nursing. Upon graduation, with an Associate of Science in Nursing (AS), the student is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.
Our ASN graduates are prepared for professional nursing practice in both acute care and community settings. Our curriculum will prepare you to establish relationships, honor diversity, and interact with individuals, families and groups across the life span. You will utilize the nursing process to create, implement, and evaluate a mutually holistic plan for maximum healing. By adhering to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, graduates demonstrate competence, continuous self-improvement, and personal wellness.
