    Residency Program Director

    Angelica Berni, Pharm.D., MS, BCPS, CPh graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University College of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed a Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at the University of Kansas Health System in conjunction with a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at the University of Kansas in 2015. During this time, she also earned a Teaching Certificate. Prior to her current role, Dr. Berni was the Clinical Program Development manager for the specialty pharmacy at Memorial Healthcare System where she oversaw the clinical management and patient assistance programs, collaborated with health care providers to develop clinical programs for clinics and assisted with specialty pharmacy accreditation. In 2018, she transitioned to Baptist Health South Florida as the Director of Specialty Pharmacy and Clinical Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. Dr. Berni precepts students and residents and is involved with various committees and professional organizations.

    Claire Penningroth, Pharm.D., BCPS

    Program Coordinator

    Claire Penningroth, Pharm.D., BCPS, earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2022. She completed her PGY1 residency at West Kendall Baptist Hospital, followed by a PGY2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency with Baptist Health South Florida. After residency, Dr. Penningroth served as a Quality Performance Improvement Coordinator, leading optimization initiatives across multiple pharmacy service lines within Baptist Health. In early 2025, she transitioned into her current role as Manager of the Pharmacy Infusion Care Coordination Team, where she focuses on enhancing patient throughput across the outpatient specialty and rare disease infusion centers.

  • Fernando Blanco, Pharm.D., MBA, MHA

    Fernando Blanco, Pharm.D., MBA, MHA

    Fernando Blanco, Pharm.D., MBA, MHA obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in 2015. Upon graduating, he completed a PGY1 & PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at AdventHealth Orlando. During his time as a resident, Dr. Blanco earned a Master of Healthcare Administration at AdventHealth University. Dr. Blanco has previously served in the roles of operations and compliance coordinator at a 1700+ bed hospital and pharmacy operations manager at AdventHealth’s central distribution pharmacy. Dr. Blanco spearheaded numerous projects to reduce costs, ensure medication availability, and improve patient safety. In 2021, Dr. Blanco transitioned to Baptist Health South Florida as the Director of Central Fill Operations at the Pharmacy Shared Services Center with responsibility for enterprise-wide centralization of distributive pharmacy services.

    Madeline Camejo, Pharm.D., MS, CPEL

    Madeline Camejo, PharmD., MS is the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Baptist Health South Florida.

    Dr. Camejo came to Baptist Health South Florida in 2018 directly into the Vice President role, which was created and positioned for a dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacy leader to propel pharmacy services forward in the rapidly evolving healthcare environment. She brought over 25 years of experience that provided a unique blend of experiences in clinical pharmacy, clinical and business administration, healthcare finances, healthcare informatics, and information technology.

    During her relatively short tenure at Baptist South Florida, Dr. Camejo has had a meaningful impact. She has expanded and implemented several acute care programs, established numerous ambulatory clinical services, enhanced the pharmacy residency program, restructured specialty pharmacy, standardized and expanded the 340(b) program, established a retail pharmacy service line, designed and planned for a state of the art corporate pharmacy build-out that will allow for additional service line additions and lead the COVID19 strategic planning and execution of both preventive and treatment therapies and vaccinations.

    Before coming to Baptist Health South Florida, Dr. Camejo held various positions with hospitals and health care systems across South Florida, most recently serving as Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Memorial Healthcare System.

    In recognition of her work and contribution to the industry, Dr. Camejo has earned several notable awards and recognitions throughout her career. Dr. Camejo has published numerous articles, co-authored a book, made several presentations on various topics, and has made countless media appearances as a subject matter expert.

    Dr. Camejo received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Central Florida and her pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Camejo is a strategic and operational visionary leader that creates and fosters a culture of a collaborative work environment that inspires every member of her team.

  • Michael DeCoske, Pharm.D., FASHP

    Michael DeCoske, Pharm.D., FASHP

    Michael DeCoske, Pharm.D., FASHP currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services at Baptist Health South Florida in Miami, Florida. Prior to this role, he served as Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer for Ambulatory Services at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. DeCoske completed a PGY1 and Health System Pharmacy Administration (PGY2) Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

    Dr. DeCoske is committed to professional pharmacy involvement. He is a fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. He served as a voting member at the 2010 ASHP Pharmacy Practice Model Summit, the 2014 ASHP Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Summit and the 2021 ASHP Specialty Pharmacy – Future Directions Summit. He has held numerous leadership positions within ASHP, most recently serving as Chair of the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Business Development Section Advisory Group. He is a co-author of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Field Guide. DeCoske holds distinction as a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

    Erika Dittmar, Pharm.D., BCPS

    Erika Dittmar, Pharm.D., BCPS, graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami. Upon completion of her residency training, she spent 10 years as an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. She has also served as a Clinical Coordinator at Baptist Hospital. Her current role is Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Director of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program. She precepts students and residents and is an adjunct clinical faculty member for the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University. In addition, she is involved with various committees and professional organizations.

    Robert Kraljevich, PharmD, BCPS, CPh

    Robert Kraljevich, PharmD, BCPS, CPh is currently the Director of Pharmacy Education at Baptist Health South Florida. He began his employment in November of 2018.

    He has held Clinical Coordinator and Residency Director/Coordinator positions at Memorial Regional Hospital South, Hollywood, Florida and Broward Health Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was also Assistant Director of Pharmacy at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio.

    Dr. Kraljevich attended Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan where he received his B.S. degree in Pharmacy and Nova Southeastern University, Davie, Florida where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. He completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio and is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

    Dina Dumercy McHenry, Pharm.D., BCOP, MBA, CSSGB

    Dina Dumercy McHenry, Pharm.D., BCOP, MBA, CSSGB is the Director of Pharmacy at the Miami Cancer Institute. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Florida A & M University and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with a focus in Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ FAMU. After her residency she completed an ASHP Oncology Patient Care Traineeship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has over 15 years of experience practicing in Oncology. In 2022 she obtained a Master's in Business Administration at the Louisiana State University. She currently serves as the co-chair of the MCI Oncology P&T Committee and is a former program director for a post graduate year 2(PGY2) residency who achieved ASHP accreditation within that programs first year. She is an active member of several professional and civic organizations including Hematology Oncology Pharmacist Association (HOPA), Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) Board of Directors, and American Society of Health-system Pharmacy (ASHP) at the local and national level. She has a passion for educating patients and caregivers about cancer treatment, patient safety and increasing cancer awareness.

    Halena Leah Marcelin, Pharm.D., MS, CPh, 340B ACE

    Halena Leah Marcelin, Pharm.D., MS, 340 ACE, graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University College of Pharmacy in 2013. She completed a Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and Clinics in 2015. During her time as a resident in North Carolina, Dr. Marcelin completed a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and earned a Teaching Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Marcelin spent 3 years working for Memorial Healthcare System as the 340B Program Manager. In 2018, she transitioned to Baptist Health South Florida and currently serves as the assistant Vice President of Pharmacy Business Affairs where she oversees the 340B Program and procurement compliance, pharmacy finance, and pharmacy revenue, reimbursement integrity in addition to non-oncology infusion and home infusion services. Dr. Marcelin precepts students and residents and is involved with various committees and professional organizations.

    Leyner Martinez, PharmD, MS, MHA, FACHE

    Leyner Martinez, PharmD, MS, MHA, FACHE is the Director of Pharmacy Services at Baptist Hospital of Miami. Dr. Martinez earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences from Florida State University. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from LECOM School of Pharmacy. After pharmacy school he completed a PGY1 residency with drug information emphasis at the Poison Control Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He then went on to complete a combined PGY1/PGY2 residency in Health-Systems Pharmacy Administration at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He earned a Master of Science degree in pharmacy administration and a Teaching Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Martinez also completed a Master of Healthcare Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Martinez has certifications in Medication Therapy Management, Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a preceptor to residents and students for health-system pharmacy administration and advance hospital/institutional practice rotations. Dr. Martinez is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

  • Aixa Rey, Pharm.D.

    Aixa Rey, Pharm.D.

    Aixa Rey, Pharm.D., earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 1989. After graduation, she completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Family Medicine at the University of Florida, Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine in 1991. She held the Consultant Pharmacist license and became a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in 1992. Just prior to being named Baptist Health South Florida’s first Director of Pharmacy Informatics, she was the Pharmacy Operations Manager at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Dr. Rey was a reviewer for the Advarra Institutional Review Board and is a current referee reviewer for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy. She serves on various system committees, including Executive Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Medication Safety, Electronic Health Record and Clinical Decision Support.

    Shivana Syne, Pharm.D., BCPS, MHA

    Shivana Syne, PharmD, BCPS, MHA is currently the Corporate Pharmacy Director of Medication Safety and Quality for Baptist Health South Florida Pharmacy Enterprise in Miami, Florida. Dr. Syne obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2004. She started her pharmacy career as a hospital clinical Pharmacist at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida. Her passion for pharmacy practice and leadership led her to move on to a Pharmacy Operations Manager role and later the Director of Pharmacy at Westside Regional Medical Center. After this, she moved to a Division Director of Clinical Pharmacy role for HCA East Florida hospitals where she directly oversaw the Clinical program for 14 hospitals. Later on, she transitioned into a Division Director of Pharmacy Operations role in the HCA East Florida Division where she oversaw the Operations and Regulatory program for 14 hospitals. Dr. Syne joined Baptist Health of South Florida in 2021 as the Corporate Manager of Pharmacy Operations and later moved into her current Medication Safety and Quality role where she oversees the medication safety program. Dr. Syne also serves on several State and National Pharmacy organization committees.

    Esty Trimino, Pharm.D., BCPS, MBA

    Estela (Esty) M. Trimino, PharmD, BCPS, MBA is currently the Corporate Director of Quality and Medication Safety for Baptist Health South Florida Pharmacy Enterprise, in Miami Florida. Dr. Trimino obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2001. After graduation, she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. She began her career as an Emergency Room/Admitting pharmacy at Mercy Hospital, where they received the ASHP Best Practice Award in 2005 under her tenure. After 12 years of practice, she moved on to a clinical manager role at Mercy Hospital. In 2016, she moved to a Division Director role of Clinical Pharmacy for HCA East Florida hospitals where she directly oversaw the Medication Safety and Clinical program for 14 hospitals. Later in 2018, transitioned into a Vice President role in the HCA East Florida Division where she had administrative over site over 14 hospitals. Dr. Trimino joined Baptist Health System of South Florida in January of 2020 where she oversees the medication safety program. Dr. Trimino currently serves on the America Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) SPPL advisory group on value, quality and compliance and also is the immediate past president for the South Florida Society of Pharmacy (Regional Society). She is very passionate about medication safety and providing the best possible outcomes for our patients.
