    Dr. Margulis Landayan received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University in 2017. Following graduation, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Lakeland Regional Health, followed by a PGY2 Infectious Diseases pharmacy residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Margulis Landayan joined South Miami Hospital in 2019, where she currently serves as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director, in addition to being the Residency Program Coordinator for the PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) – Clinical Pharmacy Enterprise. She serves as the lead for the South Miami Hospital Residency Advisory Committee and co-lead of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee. As a current clinical preceptor for Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy and Pharmacy and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy, she precepts pharmacy students in addition to PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Her current practice includes evaluating and intervening on antimicrobial utilization, rounding with a multidisciplinary Infectious Diseases team, and developing antimicrobial stewardship initiatives at a local and system-wide level. Her practice interests include antimicrobial resistance, antibiotic allergies, and resident development. She enjoys spending time with her family (including two dogs) and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

    Dr. Christian obtained her Bachelors in Pharmacy degree from Purdue University, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed a residency in Critical Care Medicine and started her career in Miami, Florida as a Clinical Manager and Residency Program Director. Dr. Christian became a Director of Pharmacy in 2012 and joined BHSF at South Miami Hospital in 2019. She currently serves as a member of the BHSF System Medication Forms and Policy Committee, BHSF Executive Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, and South Miami Hospital’s Medication Safety Committee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Infection Control Committee, Performance Improvement Committee, and Research Council.

    Dr. Benitez obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Florida International University, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. In 2003, she began her career as a Critical Care Pharmacist. Dr. Benitez was promoted to Clinical Manager in 2013. She joined BHSF at South Miami Hospital in 2020. Dr. Benitez currently serves as a member on multiple South Miami Hospital and BHSF System Committees, including but not limited to: Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, South Miami Hospital Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee, Residency Advisory Committee, Medication Safety Committee, and is co-chair of the BHSF Formulary Optimization Committee.

    Dr. Chang graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. She joined South Miami Hospital in 2006 where she has served in the role of Clinical Coordinator and also Operations Supervisor. She participates in the Medication Safety Committee and EBCPC Committee. Current practice includes overseeing Pharmacy Department operations and staff at South Miami Hospital and Baptist Health Hospital Doral (which opened in November 2021). She assists in implementation of local and BHSF initiatives, in addition to precepting residents and students.

    Dr. Calix obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry from Florida International University, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. After graduation, she completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency training. Upon completing her residency, she worked as a Critical Care Pharmacist and became Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Calix became a Clinical Coordinator in 2018 and joined BHSF at South Miami Hospital in 2020. She participates as a member of the BHSF Medication Forms and Policies Committee, South Miami Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, System Clinical Committee, Residency Advisory Committee, Medication Safety Committee, and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee.

    Dr. Ordieres Gonzalez received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1996 and completed her residency in Pediatrics in 1997. She is a Clinical Preceptor for Nova Southeastern University Colleges of Pharmacy. She is a member of several of the hospital’s multidisciplinary committees including: South Miami Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Evidence Based Clinical Care Committees, Pediatric service line, SMH Bariatric/MBS Committee, CWI NICU Research Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee, and Residency Advisory Committee. Dr. Ordieres Gonzalez also serves on system committees including the: Formulary Optimization P&T Committee, System Clinical Meeting, Clinical Research Council, Pediatric Clinical Outcomes Committee, and Oncology P&T Subcommittee.

    Dr. Leon received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2007. Following graduation, she completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency with an emphasis in Pediatrics at Baptist Hospital of Miami. She serves as the chair for the Medication Safety Committee and is a member of the BHSF Medication Safety Corporate Committee. She also serves as a Patient Safety Champion and participates as a member in the Patient Safety Committee, Clinical Practice Council, Performance Improvement Steering Council, Clinical Peer Review Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Residency Advisory Committee. Dr. Leon is a Clinical Preceptor for Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Her current practice includes working collaboratively with health-system leaders, prescribers, and clinical staff to define, design, improve, and educate on the safe medication use process while upholding a safe culture.

    Dr. Caitlin Marino grew up in western Massachusetts and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2018. After graduation, she completed a PGY1 pediatric pharmacy residency at Golisano Children’s Hospital - University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. Upon completion, she moved to Miami and worked for the Jackson Health System as a Pediatric Clinical Practice Pharmacist for Holtz Children’s Hospital. Dr. Marino joined South Miami Hospital in 2022, where she serves as the Neonatal Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the level 2 and level 3 neonatal intensive care units. She is also a preceptor for the Neonatal Critical Care rotation for PGY1 pharmacy residents and students from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Her professional interests include neonatal seizures, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and medication safety. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and attempting her hand at pottery. She also enjoys going to the beach for long walks with her adorable puppy, Leia.

    Neonatal Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

    Dr. Brown received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016. Following graduation, she completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pediatric pharmacy residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio in 2017. She spent 5 years at Holtz Children’s Hospital as a Pediatric Clinical Hospital Pharmacist before joining South Miami Hospital in 2023 as a Neonatal Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Dr. Brown serves as one of the preceptors for the Neonatal Critical Care rotation for the PGY1 pharmacy residency program and actively participates in precepting pharmacy students during their APPEs. She is actively involved in the Pediatric Clinical Optimization Committee and Quality Improvement within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Professionally she is interested in cystic fibrosis, neurology, medication safety, and antimicrobial stewardship. When not at work she enjoys going to the movies, reading, painting, walking her dog Rosy, and continuing her weight loss journey at the gym.

    Dr. Porras, Jr. received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in 2018. He then completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training at South Miami Hospital in 2019. In his current practice, he is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered, and clinical pharmacy services for the Intensive Care Units, in addition to actively participating in developing and presenting educational topics and staff development programs. He is a clinical preceptor for the Adult Critical Care rotation for the residency program, as well as a preceptor for the Critical Care and Advanced Hospital rotations for Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy’s APPE students. He is a member of several of South Miami Hospital’s multidisciplinary committees, including the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Research Council, Stroke Committee, Residency Advisory Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Committee, and CPR Committee.

    Dr. Hoffman received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy in 2020. Following graduation, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, followed by a PGY2 Critical Care pharmacy residency at University of Wisconsin Health Swedish American Hospital. Dr. Hoffman joined South Miami Hospital in 2022. Her current practice includes rounding with a multidisciplinary intensive care unit (ICU) team and providing evidence-based care for critically ill patients. Her practice interests include analagosedation, antimicrobials in the ICU and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

    Cardiology/Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

    Dr. Martinez graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University, College of Pharmacy. She then completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Broward Health Medical Center in 2020. After, she joined Baptist Hospital of Miami as a Clinical Pharmacist II, gaining experience in Cardiology, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine over two years. Dr. Martinez's passion for cardiology led her to pursue a PGY2 Cardiology Residency at Baptist Health of Miami, which she successfully completed in 2023. She recently joined South Miami Hospital as a Cardiology/Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Beyond her work, Dayana actively participates in professional organizations such as ACCP's Cardiology PRN and the American College of Cardiology. Her practice interests include advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, anticoagulation, and valvular heart disease. Outside of work, Dayana enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and engaging in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and camping.
