Dr. Lopez completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and minored in Business Administration at Florida International University, she also earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) alongside her masters in business administration with a focus in complex health system (MBA-CHS) and has completed a PGY1 Residency at Memorial Regional Hospital and a PGY2 in Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership. With several years of experience in various clinical settings, she has developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, Dr. Lopez oversees formulary management, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, medication therapy management, clinical protocol development and implementation, medication safety/quality, staff training/mentorship, and competency development. She is also instrumental in the growth and accreditation of the new DH PGY1 Residency Program, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care. Her commitment to excellence and patient advocacy aligns perfectly with Baptist Health institution’s mission and values.
Dr. Lemoine earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University (2004) and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University, Washington, DC (2012). She completed her PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency at Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC and Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from University of North Carolina (2014).
For the past ten years, Jessica has garnered pharmacy experience in a variety of acute care and ambulatory care settings in operational roles, aimed at developing people and processes. Most recently, she serves as the Director of Pharmacy for Doctors Hospital.
Dr. Hernandez completed his pharmacy education at University of Florida in 2015. He embarked his career as an overnight pharmacist at Doctors Hospital while simultaneously working part-time as a retail pharmacist at Publix. After five years on the overnight shift, he obtained the board certification in pharmacotherapy.
Currently, Dr. Hernandez is the Transitions of Care pharmacist specialist. One aspect of his current role that brings me immense satisfaction is engaging with patients to discuss their medication regimens. He takes pride in being a patient advocate, closely collaborating with physicians to ensure patients have access to their prescribed medications and can effectively adhere to their treatment plans. Through his experiences, Dr Hernandez developed a passion for promoting medication safety, optimizing therapeutic outcomes, and championing patient-centered care. He is excited to continue leveraging my skills and expertise to positively impact patient health and contribute to the advancement of the pharmacy profession as a preceptor.
Dr. Vargas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Miami and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. With 27 years of experience at Doctors Hospital, she serves as the Medication Safety Officer and Operations Supervisor, focusing on Sterile Compounding and Drug Diversion. Dr. Vargas has obtained a Medication Safety Certificate from ASHP and is an active member of DCPA. She participates in multiple committees, including Performance Improvement Steering, Patient Safety, Medication Safety, Falls, Infection Control, Sterile Compounding, and Drug Diversion Task Force. Her expertise and dedication ensure the safe use of medications and contribute to enhancing patient care and safety.
Dr. Ricardo Bermudez received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in 2021 and completed a PGY-1 residency at Palmetto General Hospital. He then worked as the critical care pharmacist at HCA Mercy Hospital for nearly three years before joining Baptist Doctors Hospital in May 2025. Dr. Bermudez currently practices in the critical care setting, where he actively participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds, focusing on optimizing patient care and safety while ensuring the application of best evidence-based practices. He also serves as a member of the Critical Care Committee and is a dedicated preceptor for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students from the University of Florida, Nova Southeastern University, University of South Florida, and Palm Beach Atlantic University. He serves as the primary preceptor for the Adult Critical Care rotation and is an active member of the Residency Advisory Committee, supporting residents’ professional growth and development through clinical teaching, mentorship, and program guidance. Passionate about education, Dr. Bermudez continually seeks opportunities to advance the knowledge and skills of pharmacy staff, students, and residents. His professional interests include antimicrobial stewardship, neurocritical care, and advancing safe, effective pharmacotherapy in critically ill patients.
Dr. Swieczkowski earned a B.S. in Biochemistry at Florida State University in 2010 and his Pharm.D. at Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2014. After graduation, he joined CVS as a pharmacy manager in Alabama and Florida gaining valuable leadership skills. In 2018, he joined HCA Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove, Florida, focusing on expanding the hospital’s retail pharmacy operations. His initiatives included the implementation of automated medication kiosks across emergency departments within HCA facilities, as well as the development of a comprehensive Meds-to-Bed program to facilitate patient discharge. Subsequently, Dr. Swieczkowski joined Baptist Health South Florida as a clinical pharmacist working at South Miami Hospital and most recently Doctors Hospital. On his spare time, Dr. Swieczkowski enjoys staying active, spending quality time with family, and taking walks with his dog, Finn.
