Dr. Patel is the PGY1 Residency Program Director. As a clinical pharmacy specialist in critical care, she precepts the critical care I core rotation and critical care II elective rotation. She graduated from Roseman University College of Pharmacy, an accelerated, 3-year doctoral program. After graduation, she went on to complete her residency at Charleston Area Medical Center. Dr. Patel is dual Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and Critical Care. She sits on various committees within the organization including P&T Committee, Code Blue Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, Sepsis Committee, and Critical Care Committee, which she previously co-chaired for 4 years. Dr. Patel has a teaching certification from ASHP and precepts students on rotation from various colleges of pharmacy in the state of Florida. In March 2021, she was inducted into Marquis Who’s Who in America for her contributions to the practice of critical care. In her free time, she enjoys being a social media educator and is an editor and author for a critical care website.

Gwenesia S. Collins, PharmD, currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Acute Care Pharmacy at Baptist Health of South Florida North Region. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Services. She began her professional leadership experience at CVS Pharmacy serving as the Regional Pharmacy Supervisor. After two years, she transitioned to a clinical pharmacist position at Henry Ford Fairlane Home Infusion Services. She continued to diversify her work experience by accepting a position with St. John’s Main Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist. In 2007, Dr. Collins accepted a clinical pharmacist position at POH Regional Medical Center where quickly became the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator and in 2009 became the Director of Pharmacy. One of Dr. Collins’ distinguished honors was in August 2007 when she was appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve on the Michigan Board of Pharmacy for a 4 year term. In 2011, she served as Chairman of the Board. In April 2009, Dr. Collins was honored by Florida A&M University, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences when they inducted her into the Gallery of Distinction. In 2010 she was recognized as Cambridge Who’s Who – Professional of the Year for Home Healthcare Services and also received a nomination for Industry Expert in Home Healthcare Services. In 2012, she was recognized as one of 125 Distinguished Alumni by Florida A&M University. Her leadership training involves being a graduate of the American Society of Health System Pharmacist (ASHP) Leadership Academy, Leadership Detroit Class of Thirty-one, the Pacific Institute Executive Strategic Leadership Program, and Leadership Boca Class of 2017. Dr. Collins is a member of a number of professional organizations. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Florida A&M College of Pharmacy Apothecary Board of Advisors and President of the Faulk Center for Counseling Board of Directors.

Dr. Markakis is the Director of Pharmacy since April of 2019 and the founding program director of the PGY1 residency since its inception in 2013. He now serves as the Administrator of the program. He presently serves on various Baptist Health South Florida Pharmacy Enterprise initiatives. He served previously as Clinical Pharmacy Program Manager since 2005. He has his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Markakis then completed his PGY1 residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He oversees the entire pharmacy staff as well as the PGY1 faculty at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He also serves as adjunct faculty to the Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine where he has lectured in various pharmacotherapeutics areas. He serves on numerous hospital committees including Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Infection Prevention, Sepsis, Stroke Council, Critical Care and Antimicrobial Stewardship. He is an active lecturer for the Marcus Neuroscience Cerebrovascular Conferences. He also has served as Chairman of the Pharmacy Council for a regional network of Vizient GPO. Dr. Markakis has mentored many students and residents, and sits on Palm Beach Atlantic University Student Advisory Board, as well as various Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy student development activities.

Dr. Earley co-precepts the longitudinal Pharmacy Operations Experience with an emphasis on USP 797 and USP 800 training and compliance. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Earley has served as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Sterile Compounding with the Broward Health District and now serves as one of the Supervisors of Pharmacy Operations at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Earley has IV Room construction, home infusion and retail management experience and holds a Board Certification in Sterile Compounding, in addition to an ASHP certification in Sterile Compounding.
Dr. Anderson precepts the longitudinal and elective Nutrition Support experiences. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. She then completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, FL. Dr. Anderson is Board Certified in Nutrition Support and Geriatrics. Her practice includes the credentialing of the surgical residents from Florida Atlantic University. She serves as adjunct faculty at Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine where she lectures in nutrition support topics to the medical students. Other interests include immunoglobulin therapy and geriatric polypharmacy.

Dr. Ghanavi is a neurology clinical pharmacy specialist, and precepts the elective neurology rotation. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy, advanced standing program, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with high honors in 2019. During her course of study, Dr. Ghanavi received the Chancellor’s Scholarship and she was accepted into Rho Chi Academic Honor Society. After graduation, she went on and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Ghanavi is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and completed a Teaching Certificate Program at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, Dr. Ghanavi has been working at Marcus Neuroscience Institute as part of the multidisciplinary team working alongside the neurology and neurointensivist team. Dr. Beatriz Jimenez Cadilla is a Clinical Ambulatory Pharmacy Specialist, providing services at the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Medicine Resident Clinic affiliated with Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Boca Raton, FL. Dr. Jimenez Cadilla received her Doctor of Pharmacy from University of Wisconsin, Madison. Following graduation, she completed her PGY1 Community Pharmacy Practice Residency at Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City, Utah and her PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice Residency here at Baptist Health South Florida. Upon completion of post-graduate residency training, she accepted a position as a Clinical Ambulatory Pharmacist at the Baptist Health Specialty Pharmacy where she helped expand Neurology specialty pharmacy services. In her current clinic, Dr. Jimenez Cadilla is responsible for providing pharmacy services including chronic disease state management, medication counseling, medication dispensing/inventory management, and assisting with medication coverage/patient assistance programs for underserved and uninsured patients in the community.
Dr. Natalie Mella is the Surgical Services preceptor at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2017. She then completed her PGY1 residency at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Mella is an active member of the OR Committee. Her practice includes ensuring the safe, effective, and timely administration of medications to patients before, during, and after surgery. Dr. Mella's professional interests include infectious diseases and cardiology.

Dr. Jade Diana Montejo is a transitions of care pharmacy specialist, and precepts the Transitions of Care I rotation. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2015, and her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and completed a Teaching Certificate Program at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, Dr. Montejo helped establish the outpatient pharmacy services at the Florida Atlantic University Clinic affiliated with the hospital. This service consists of working in a collaborative setting with physicians and medical residents to optimize drug therapy, answer drug information questions, present topic discussions on treatment guideline updates, and counsel patients on their medications and chronic disease states. The services also includes making cost-effective drug therapy recommendations, dispensing free medications to the underserved communities, and helping patients enroll in patient assistance programs. Additionally, Dr. Montejo started the inpatient Transitions of Care Program at Boca Raton Regional Hospital where the pharmacist plays an instrumental role in helping to facilitate the hospital discharge process. This involves providing thorough admission and discharge medication reconciliation reviews, making recommendations to optimize drug therapy, discharge counseling, and assisting with medication access needs to improve patient care and satisfaction, as well as help reduce hospital readmissions rates for high-risk patients. Dr. Montejo is an active member of the Transitions of Care Committee, Readmission Taskforce Committee, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. She also serves a mentor and precepts pharmacy students from different colleges of pharmacy in the state of Florida.

Dr. Patel is the Clinical Informatics Pharmacist and liaison of clinical pharmacy to all integrated systems at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He precepts the Clinical Informatics elective experience. Dr. Patel earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Johns University in Queens, New York and holds an ASHP certification in Clinical Informatics. He serves on all committees involving informatics, maintains pharmacy systems, and provides clinical and safety data reporting to appropriate committees. Dr. Patel is integral in assuring all aspects of the pharmacy systems are functioning to capacity. Dr. Patel is an active member of HIMSS.

Dr. Paz co-precepts the longitudinal Pharmacy Operations Experience. Her educational journey began at Nova Southeastern University's College of Pharmacy, where she earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Realizing the importance of understanding the business side of healthcare, she also pursued and successfully completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Nova Southeastern University's Huizenga College of Business.
To further enhance her clinical skills and knowledge, Dr. Paz pursued a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. This residency experience allowed her to gain valuable hands-on experience and specialized training in various aspects of pharmacy practice.
Demonstrating her commitment to professional growth and excellence, Dr. Paz is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS). Additionally, she completed a Teaching Certificate Program through the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, highlighting her passion for educating the next generation of pharmacists.
Recognized for her leadership qualities and commitment to fostering a supportive pharmacy community, Dr. Paz serves as a Co-Chair of the Pharmacy Wellbeing and Belonging Committee. In this role, she actively works towards promoting the wellbeing and inclusion of pharmacists.

Dr. Riveron is the Medication Safety and Quality Coordinator for Boca Raton Regional Hospital (BRRH) where her day-to-day activities and responsibilities support safe medication use. Dr. Riveron’s general day-to-day activities include the review and investigation of reported medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and drug recalls, and then time-specific activities related to oversight of the medication system. She previously worked as a clinical pharmacist at BRRH prior to being promoted to this role in March 2021. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and her Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2019. Prior to attending pharmacy school, she graduated from the University of Miami in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and minors in chemistry and political science. She received her Juris Doctor degree from NSU in 2009. Dr. Riveron presently serves as the Chair of the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Council of the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP). She also serves as the Advocacy Co-Chair of the South Florida Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Additionally, she serves as a member of NSU’s Biomedical Informatics Advisory Committee.

Dr. Roman co-precepts the longitudinal Pharmacy Operations experience. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in 2019. She then completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Holmes Regional Medical Center located in Melbourne, Florida. Prior to joining the Boca Raton pharmacy team, she worked as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Holmes Regional where she rounded with the internal medicine team. Her interests include critical care and infectious diseases.
Dr. Romanos precepts the Internal Medicine 1 core and Internal Medicine 2 elective core rotations. She also precepts APPE students on their internal medicine rotation. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore in 2012. She has had many pharmacy roles in different specialties including being the Clinical Pharmacist in the Anticoagulation Clinic at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, rounding on the Geriatric unit at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and being the Pediatric Acute Care Pharmacist at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Dr. Romanos is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. She is an active member of the Pediatric Clinical Optimization Committee and the Maternal Hemorrhage Multidisciplinary Committee. Her practice includes working closely with the interdisciplinary internal medicine team to detect and resolve medication related problems and make evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy recommendations. Her areas of interest include anticoagulation, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. When she is not rounding or precepting, she is typically spending time with her husband and two little kids who keep her very busy.

Dr. Tulloch precepts the core Pharmacy Practice experience. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia and then completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. She serves as the Operations Manager for the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. While overseeing operations, she is an active member in the Medication Safety Committee. Dr. Tulloch oversees the pharmacists and the technical staff.

Dr. Walcott precepts the outpatient oncology rotation at the Lynn Cancer Institute. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati in 2006. She was a well-rounded hospital pharmacist with experience in critical care, ER, NICU/pediatrics, and sterile compounding before specializing in oncology. She received her Board Certification in Oncology in 2015. Her practice includes preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and other biological agents. Her focus is on practicing evidence based medicine in regards to cancer treatment. She holds an ACCP certificate in Precision Medicine in Oncology Genomics. Her professional interest lies in gaining further knowledge on how to use a patient’s cancer genomics to tailor oncology therapy.

Dr. Anthony Wasielewski completed pharmacy prerequisites from Kent State University in 2016 and went on to receive his Doctor of Pharmacy from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2020. Following graduation, he completed a Post-Graduate Year-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at MetroHealth System (Cleveland, OH), followed by a Post-Graduate Year-2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy residency at the University of Florida Health Jacksonville (Jacksonville, FL). Dr. Wasielewski is a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, with responsibilities in the areas of infectious diseases, and serves as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Pharmacist Champion for the hospital. In his spare time, he enjoys baking new recipes, going to the beach, and golfing. He also enjoys traveling new areas and trying new restaurants.
