The Urology Oncology Fellowship at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute provides comprehensive training in all aspects of Urologic Oncology, including evaluating complex oncology patients, performing physical exam and formulate a plan of care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

The fellow will be responsible for covering all major surgical cases as well as rounding. The fellow will also have teaching responsibilities to medical students rotating in Urology.

With more than 900 beds, it is the largest of Baptist Health’s 12 hospitals. Three Centers of Excellence are housed on the campus: Miami Cancer Institute, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute (the largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular facility in the region) and Miami Neuroscience Institute.



Eligibility Requirements and Application Schedule

Our program recruits, trains and retains excellent healthcare professionals to serve the South Florida community. Program participants will be trained to be collaborative, culturally competent and patient- and family-centered professionals who follow the guiding principles of service, quality knowledge and diversity.

Eligibility Prerequisites

  • must have obtained medical degree and completed an ACGME-accredited Urology residency
  • must have completed all USMLE steps, including step 3
  • must be eligible for a medical license in the state of Florida

Application Requirements

  • USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3
  • Medical school transcript
  • Three letters of recommendation from physicians who are familiar with the applicant’s professionalism and clinical skills
  • Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG) certification (if applicable) by February 1
Acceptance and admission to the program is contingent on submission of all requested materials and meeting all eligibility requirements as determined by the program.
