    Julio C. Ortiz is a board-certified Podiatric Foot and Ankle surgeon specializing in diabetic limb salvage, trauma, and complex lower extremity deformity correction. He earned his podiatric medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Ortiz completed his post-graduate surgical residency training at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida.

    Dr. Ortiz also has specialty training in Reconstructive Adult and Pediatric Flatfoot Deformity Correction, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Ankle Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Total Ankle Joint Replacement.

    Dr. Ortiz is amongst a handful of Podiatric Surgeons in South Florida trained in Total Ankle Joint Replacement and has extensive experience addressing arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle.

    Dr. Ortiz is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery.

    Dr. Ortiz is very involved in the educational advancement of Podiatric Medicine. He holds teaching positions at four separate podiatric medical schools. Dr. Ortiz serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor for Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. He also serves as Clinical Instructor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for Western University of Health Sciences. Additionally he serves as Clinical Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine.

    Aside from serving as Program Director for the Podiatric Surgical Residency at Bethesda Hospital, Dr. Ortiz is also in charge of providing education and direction to podiatry students from all the podiatry colleges who rotate through Bethesda Memorial during their fourth year of schooling. He also works first hand with the Podiatric surgical residents on Clinical Research for Publication.
