    Adrian Cristian, M.D., is physiatrist and the chief of cancer rehabilitation at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Cristian graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and its affiliates where he also served as Chief Resident. He holds a master's degree in health care management from Harvard University School of Public Health. He has served as Chief of Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Medicine at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center in NY, Service Chief, Division of Rehabilitation Medicine Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Vice-Chairman and Residency Program Director at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Chairman of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Northwell Glen Cove Hospital and currently as Chief, Cancer Rehabilitation Miami Cancer Institute.

    He has held academic appointments at several medical schools in the New York City including Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Weill Cornell Medical College and Hofstra School of Medicine and is currently Professor, Department of Translational Medicine at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. He has edited several textbooks in rehabilitation oncology including books on breast and gynecologic rehabilitation, lung cancer rehabilitation, central nervous system cancer rehabilitation, head, and neck cancer rehabilitation as well as several chapters and textbooks in various aspects of rehabilitation medicine geared to rehabilitation medicine physicians. He has also written books for the public on amputee care and spinal cord injury and has lectured widely at regional and national rehabilitation medicine scientific meetings and served as course director of the Miami Cancer Institute Rehabilitation Oncology Symposium for the past 3 years. His area of clinical interest is in the treatment of the toxicities associated with cancer and cancer treatment as well as loss of muscle mass in cancer.

    ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF CANCER REHABILITATION FELLOWSHIP

    Romer Orada, D.O., is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Orada received his undergraduate degree in BS Biology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he also served as Chief Resident.  He completed a Cancer Rehabilitation Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He joined Miami Cancer Institute from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he served as an assistant professor and the residency rotation director of Cancer Rehabilitation in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on topics related to cancer rehabilitation at regional and national conferences.

    Armando Alvarez, M.D., is a board-certified pain management physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. He specializes in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic pain, as well as musculoskeletal conditions. His multidisciplinary approach includes spinal and joint injections, stimulator trials, and rehabilitation programs designed to help patients manage pain and restore function.

    Dr. Alvarez earned both his medical degree and Master of Public Health from the University of Miami. During his medical training, he founded the school’s first Diversity Week and received the Gold Humanism Award for compassionate patient care and leadership. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and pursued fellowship training in Pain Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

    In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Alvarez is active in research focused on musculoskeletal disorders and healthcare disparities among underserved populations. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia.

    Raul A. Rosario-Concepcion, M.D., is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute, specializing in the musculoskeletal system with a focus on sports medicine. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He then completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where he later served as an Assistant Professor for six years.

    During his tenure at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Dr. Rosario-Concepción established the Cancer Rehabilitation Program, integrating ultrasound-guided procedures as part of the comprehensive management of pain in patients with cancer, particularly those with breast cancer.

    Currently, Dr. Rosario-Concepción serves as the Director of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Ultrasound at Miami Neuroscience Institute. His professional interests include the diagnosis and management of chronic tendinopathy, return-to-play strategies following muscle injuries, and advanced ultrasound-guided procedures.

    Dr. Rosario-Concepcion has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international meetings in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He has served as a team physician for the University of North Florida’s NCAA Division I athletic programs and the USA Basketball Junior National Teams, and he currently serves as an Unaffiliated Neurotrauma Consultant for the National Football League (NFL).
