Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Neurosurgery Fellowship

The Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Neurosurgery Fellowship at Baptist Health South Florida offers advanced multidisciplinary training in the management of complex cranial base pathology and intracranial tumors. Designed for post-graduate ACGME residency trained neurosurgeons, the fellowship emphasizes comprehensive exposure to minimally invasive endoscopic approaches, open skull base surgery, neurosurgical oncology, and advanced microsurgical and cerebrovascular techniques. Fellows work closely with a collaborative team of neurosurgeons, ENT skull base surgeons, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, neuro-oncologists, and neuropathologists in a high-volume tertiary referral setting.
The program provides extensive operative experience in the treatment of pituitary adenomas, vestibular schwannomas, meningiomas, primary and secondary intra-axial malignancies and other complex skull base lesions. In addition to surgical training, fellows participate in multidisciplinary tumor/radiosurgery/skull base/cerebrovascular conferences, clinical research, and longitudinal patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The fellowship is committed to developing technical excellence, academic productivity, and leadership skills while fostering expertise in cutting-edge skull base and neuro-oncologic care.
Through access to state-of-the-art technology, advanced imaging, and a diverse patient population, fellows will gain the skills necessary to pursue careers in academic medicine or specialized skull base practice. The educational environment at Baptist Health South Florida supports innovation, mentorship, and individualized professional development, preparing graduates to become future leaders in the evolving field of skull base and tumor surgery. Fellows will be expected to contribute clinically as well as academically with at least 2 manuscripts.
