Eligibility Requirements and Application Schedule
Eligibility Prerequisites
- Participants must be aged 16 or older as of the start of the program.
- The AHA developed the BLS Course for current healthcare providers and those in their collegiate programs (e.g. medical, nursing, emergency medical, or allied health personnel) whose daily occupation or volunteer activities demand proficiency in the knowledge and skills of Basic Life Support (BLS).
- This course is designed for those who have not yet received an AHA HCP certification card or have allowed their certification to expire and are expected to respond and participate in a possible adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest.
Application Requirements
- Pick up or receive by mail the BLS for Health Care Providers textbook and read prior to class.
