Nathaniel (Nate) Ortiz is Chief Executive Officer of West Kendall Baptist Hospital, where he is responsible for leading the hospital’s strategic direction, operational performance and continued commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. He is an experienced healthcare executive with deep expertise in complex clinical operations, strategic growth and large-scale capital projects.
Prior to this role, Mr. Ortiz served as Chief Operating Officer of Baptist Hospital, where he strengthened operations while advancing growth and innovation across key service lines. He also held previous leadership roles at Baptist Hospital where he led major initiatives, including the growth of surgical services, strategic oversight of neuroscience services and major campus renovations and development projects.
Mr. Ortiz has played an important role in advancing systemwide initiatives across Baptist Health, including surgical services, surgical technology and robotics. In addition, he has helped support the growth of Miami Neuroscience Institute, contributed to the development of Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital and provided leadership for major capital and serviceline expansion initiatives.
A committed civic and community leader, Mr. Ortiz serves on the FIU Alumni Board and is board chair of Urban Health Partnerships. He is a graduate of Leadership Florida and Leadership Miami and has previously served on community and nonprofit boards including Miami Vineyard Community Church, United Way Health Impact Council and the American Cancer Society. He earned a Master of Health Services Administration from Florida International University.
