Homestead Hospital Offers Free Seminar on Breast Cancer, Oct. 20

More than 192,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. What can you do to protect yourself or someone you love? Learn how education, screening and early detection can benefit you or a loved one by attending a free seminar, “Breast Health: What Every Woman Needs to Know,” on Tuesday, October 20, 6-9 p.m., in the Homestead Hospital auditorium.

Attendees will receive the most accurate, up-to-date information, including the benefits of digital mammography and breast MRI –– advanced technologies available at Homestead Hospital –– as well as details about treatment options and reconstructive surgery.

At 6 p.m., exhibitors will be available to discuss breast health-related medical services, therapies, nutrition counseling and support groups. Then, at 7 p.m., a panel of experts that includes oncology surgeon George R. Tershakovec, M.D., oncologist Peter Citron, M.D., radiologist Maria Pilar Martinez, M.D., and reconstructive surgeon Max Polo, M.D., will discuss the latest advancements in diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The hospital is located at Campbell Drive (SW 312 Street) and SW 147 Avenue.
